In collaboration with the UCI Center for Neural Circuit Mapping, Dr. Abouzari and Dr. Tjoa aim to achieve spatial transcriptomics and protein expression profiling of different head and neck cancers and their tumor microenvironment at a single-cell resolution. This line of research represents a significant step with wide implications for both basic cancer research and clinical practice, as it shifts the paradigm of head and neck cancer treatment towards precision oncology.
