Thanks to your generosity, Head and Neck Cancer Research raised $76,900 from 25 gifts, successfully unlocking two generous challenge gifts to support this vital work. Your support directly benefits UCI Health’s Department of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery, helping us lead the way in advanced cancer research, innovative treatments, and patient-centered care.

This year’s Giving Day was especially meaningful as gifts made in support of Head and Neck Cancer will also honor the legacy of Dr. Victor Passy, who brought academic otolaryngology to Orange County in 1967. A pioneering physician, educator, and co-developer of the globally used Passy-Muir tracheostomy speaking valve, Dr. Passy passed away in June 2024 at the age of 93. He was deeply committed to resident education and patient humanism—values that continue to define our work today. Your Giving Day gifts will help fund resident education in his memory and support groundbreaking cancer care that will impact patients for generations to come.
