Dr. Eric Abello has helped establish a new multidisciplinary Complex Airway Team at UC Irvine in collaboration with colleagues in Thoracic Surgery, Interventional Pulmonology, and Radiology. Modeled after a tumor board, this monthly forum brings together specialists to discuss challenging airway cases, identify potential candidates for tracheal and cricotracheal resection, and develop coordinated treatment strategies for patients with complex airway disease. This initiative has strengthened collaboration across departments while expanding access to comprehensive, team-based airway care for patients at UC Irvine.
