Class of 2026
The Department of Otolaryngology–Head & Neck Surgery at the University of California, Irvine proudly celebrated the graduation of our 2025–2026 Chief Residents and Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Fellow during the annual graduation ceremony held on June 5, 2026. The event brought together faculty, residents, fellows, family members, and supporters to recognize the accomplishments of our graduating trainees and celebrate the next chapter of their careers.

We are pleased to congratulate our graduating Chief Residents:

  • Khodayar Goshtasbi, MD, who will pursue a Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship in New York with Drs. Steven Pearlman, Neil Gordon, and Moustafa Mourad.

  • Sina Torabi, MD, who will begin a Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship at UC Davis.

  • Monica Simone Trent, MD, who will join the Head and Neck Oncology & Microvascular Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship at the University of Cincinnati.

The department also celebrated the graduation of our Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Fellow, Celeste Gibson, MD, who will be joining a private facial plastic surgery practice in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

A highlight of the ​was a special guest presentation by Dr. Ann Messner of Texas Children's Hospital, at the morning research symposium that preceded the graduation event.

The Department extends its sincere gratitude to the faculty, staff, residents, fellows, families, and supporters who contributed to the success of this year's ceremony. We are incredibly proud of our graduates and look forward to following their continued achievements as they advance the field of otolaryngology and serve patients across the country.
